RON-PON

RON-PON follows on from David Bausseron’s work with the actors of the Compagnie de l’Oiseau-Mouche since 2010, and especially from the experience of the group Humming Dogs, an improvised rock band that the guitarist formed with 7 of his actors. It is with Thierry Dupont, member of Humming Dogs and dean of the company, that the adventure continues from 2022.

A raw trio with Vega-inspired overtones, RonPon explores a territory of improvised rock that is both minimalist and grandiose, where synths merge with electric guitars, drums, drum machines, and voice in a lyrical, rough-edged, dreamlike, grounded, fragile or bold whirlwind.

Invented languages, imaginary stories, love songs, and characters whose narratives are written and reinvented at each performance form a rich and adventurous textual corpus, born from instant oral composition full of surprises, discoveries, and spontaneity.

RonPon’s stage presence is amplified by Lionel Palun’s visual performance, creating live visuals inspired by Thierry Dupont’s drawings.

With a few meetings under their belt in May 2020, April and June 2021, the duo gave their first concert at the International Meeting of Raw Music Practices on March 25 and 26, 2022 as part of the Festival Sonic Protest in Paris, and should perform the same year in Nancy at the invitation of Anthony Laguerre.
