Like music, the horseshoe crab (limule in French) has shown exceptional morphological conservatism. However, biochemical studies reveal that a large number of molecular traits distinguish present-day organisms from extinct species, even those that are morphologically similar.
If the animal is 450 million years old, the band is born in 2022 to fulfill a desire for improvisation.
Gathering of improvisers exploring contemporary languages, the ensemble explores the forms of free improvisation by working with permanence and transformation, the stable and the unpredictable.
The group performs in various configurations, bringing together:
Xavier Charles (clarinet), Barbara Dang (piano), Peter Orins (drums), Audrey Lauro (alto. saxophone), Anne-F Jacques (objetcs) and Éric Normand (electric bass).
